A series of black and white photographs
which transform the cacophony of Grand Central station during
rush hour into subtle kinetic tapestries of light and shadow
reminiscent of futurism and abstract expressionism in painting.
Roth achieves an inimitably painterly style that is a stunning
and refreshingly new "photosynthesis" in the great tradition
of New York City photography.

Dialogue Series: Baaba Maal is an
interpretation of the beauty and strength of the performance
of the Senegalese musician, Baaba Maal, and his group at Africa
Fete, 1999. The photographs capture moments in motion in a
way that elevates ordinary existence to a level of ethereal
abstraction. The power of the images transcends the visual
dimension and makes us feel as if we can almost hear the music
and rhythms of the players. The first in a series of exhibitions
entitled Spiritual Stirrings portraying the spiritual connection
of music, dance and the body in motion across cultures.
